Watch our lunchtime symposium from BSG EndoBridge 2026, as Dr Rawen Kader, GI Researcher and GLINT Chair, explores the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) in gastrointestinal endoscopy, from early locally-deployed hardware-based computer-aided detection and diagnosis (CADe/CADx) systems to today’s advanced cloud-based AI platforms, and how cloud-based workflows are poised to transform the translation of AI into routine endoscopic practice.
The session reviewed evidence of the latest generation of AI models, including newly developed approaches trained on large, unique datasets of clinically significant lesions, designed to deliver improvements where they matter most clinically.
Key AI applications were also discussed, including real-time polyp detection, AI-assisted polyp diagnosis and characterisation, Barrett’s oesophagus neoplasia detection with targeted biopsy support, as well as emerging AI solutions for endoscopic Mayo scoring in ulcerative colitis.
